In-Home South Indian Cooking Class


The structure of our South Indian cooking class is very informal and relaxed. We want to make you feel comfortable, in your own environment and kitchen, while learning how to prepare some traditional (and some updated classics) South Indian recipes. 

During a three hour minimum time-frame we will prepare a seasonally- appropriate menu consisting of a selection of the following: chaat (small appetizer-style bites/savory snacks), main protein (ex. pulses, fish, shrimp, etc.), main carb (ex. rice/pulao/biryani/appam), thoran/kootan (traditional Keralan veggie side) and dessert (depending on your selection/s and time restraints). A brief introduction to spices used in Keralan cuisine will be highlighted prior to the start of cooking. We bring all the tools, ingredients (spices, produce, protein/s etc.) to your home to cook this meal together. All the food prepared remains with you to enjoy at your own convenience.  

We always use organic, local ingredients, whenever possible to prepare delicious home-style South Indian dishes, with a focus on Keralan cuisine, that are vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian-friendly. 

Recipe cards and a few spices will be provided so you can experiment on your own.
